It contains on the Re-verse, the Badge of Blanc Cour-sier Herald, namely, on a fieldGules, a White Horse richlyenamelled, beneath the Motto, nec aspera terrent, but sur-rounded, as on the other side, with the Motto of the Order.
In all Ceremonies of the Order the Genealogist wears a Mantle of whitesatin lined with crimson silk, having on the right shoulder the Badge of theOrder, like the Esquires to the Knights, and the Prebendaries of Westminster, fastened by a similar Cordon to that of the Knights Grand Cross, togetherwith a Surcoat of white satin, and a Cap or Bonnet of crimson satin, similar tothat of the Esquires . 7

5 Art. XVIII. p. 60, antea.
6 The only notice in the Statutes of the Crown over the Badges of the Officers, is that of the Kingof Arms, which is there described as an Imperial Crown, and it is made like the Crowns in the Arms ofthe Order; but it was probably intended to represent the Crown of the Realm, for any other would be,in that position, anomalous and improper. The Crown placed over the Badge of the present GreatActing Master is, however, like that worn by the Officers, while the one over the Cross of such MilitaryKnights Grand Cross, as are Knights of the Garter, with one of which Prince Albert was Invested),resembles the Royal Crown.
