All military expences relating to the land ser-vice were classed under this title. These wereplaced in different articles; which in ten years(from 1779 to 1788, inclusive) amounted to1,730,385 cr. 8 t. 3 g. ; or 173,038 cr. annually.

This article included the whole expence of thecorps of matrosses, together with the pay of thecommandant of the artillery.
