enumerated the times for wearing it; to wit, on the Eve,’at all times of Divine Service, Dinner and Sapper ; nnlefsin cafe of War, Sicknefs, or other juft Impediment ;when it was fufficient, if the abfent Knight did wear theGarter and George, either in a Gold Chain, or Siik Rib*bond.

And when the fame Sovereign, about three Years after,made a general Reformation of the Statutes, he enjoin’dthe abfent Knight s-Companims (unlefs under reftrainr,) toprepare a Capital Stall in the Church or Chappel wherehe defign’d to hear Service, to the Honour of the Sove-reign ; in which (hould be fet up the Arms of the Orderwithin a Garters, and aifo to eredt another Stall, as far indiftance (according to the proportion of the laid Churchor Chappel,) from the Stall of the Sovereign, as is theabfent Knights Stall in the Caftle of tPindfor, and there-in place his own Arms: And fhould wear the whole Habitof the Order, and hear Divine Service, fuch as the Churchordained for the faid time ; as well on the Eve andMorning, as on the Afternoon on the Feaft Day. He is like-wife to do Reverence towards the Altar, in the Honourof God, and after towards the Stall eredfed for the Sove*reign, at his coming in and going out of the faid Churchor Chappel, and as often as he Ihould pafs before the faidStall. But Emperors, Kings, Princes, or Electors, areexcepred, who may place their Seats and Stalls as theythink fitting.

This Decree is ftill in full force, and we fliall only fur-ther obferve, that it has been ufual for the abfent Knightto perform the fame Ceremonies as near as may be towhat is obferved at tVindftr, and to be attended with aconvenient Number of Gentlemen before him, well ha-bited, with rhe Officers of his Houfhold, 0 c. who, ac-cording to their Degrees, proceed two and two togetherbare-headed ; and that he Dines and Sups alone at all times,unlefs a Kpight-Companion be with him.
