ARNHEIM.

AllNHEIM is the capital of the Veluwe, the chief district ofthe three (the Veluwe, the Betawe and Zutphen), forming theprovince of Guelderland. It is pleasantly situated on a gentleslope, skirting the right bank of the Rhine. The surroundingcountry is also much more varied than the other parts ofHolland, and contains numerous country seats, some laidout with great taste, belonging to the nobility and gentry, whoretire hither in the summer months to enjoy the pure air, forwhich the neighbourhood of Arnheim is famed. The greatchurch, which forms a conspicuous feature in this view, containsseveral monumeuts of the Counts of Guelderland.
