THE DOM-GASSE; WURZBOURG.
THE city of Wurzbourg is built on the right bank of theMaine. It was formerly the capital of a Bishopric and GrandDuchy ; and, since the late territorial arrangements of the con-tinent, has belonged to Bavaria. Although the streets are, forthe most part, very irregular, it is a handsome and well builtcity. The Dom-Gasse is the principal street, leading directfrom the bridge over the Maine, to the Cathedral, which standsin the centre of the city. The view of this street, as we enterit from the bridge, is remarkably picturesque, being termi-nated by the spires of the Cathedral. On the left is a loftytower adjoining the town hall ; and on the right, nearlyopposite to it, is a singularly ornamented fountain.
