THE city of Wurzburg is justly celebrated for the magnifi-cence of its palace, churches and other public buildings, for thebeauty of its situation and for the delightful prospects fromits neighbouring heights. One of the most splendid viewsis from the high ground on the left bank of the Maine, a littleabove the place where it enters the city. From this elevatedsituation we have a commanding view of the whole extentof the city, with the citadel nobly crowning the opposite hill.The whole is enclosed by a range of heights, covered withvineyards, which yield the finest wines of Franconia.
