HEIDELBERG.
ONE of the most pleasing views of Heidelberg is obtainedfrom the right bank of the Neckar, a little below the bridge, aswe approach the city by the Berg Strasse from Frankfort. From this point, the city with the ruins of the castle above it,backed by the richly wooded Heiligenberg, are displayed in fullview. The handsome stone bridge was built on the site of anold bridge which was carried away by the breaking up of theice in 1784. It is seven hundred feet in length, and thirty feetin width.
